I'm Duncan aka The guvnor I started attending the munch in late 99, from there I started to help run it with tiana, then a few months later she stepped down and i then took it over.   I've been running the munch now for eights years and although I live in London I travel down to manchester  every month for the weekend.  My passions in life are many, I enjoy socialising with friends, I'm a bit of tecky so like rpg's, apple macs, and photography.  I read fantasy/sci-fi books and love all films except horror.

I am currently very wrapped up with vanilla life, so am out and about much less but if anyone

I've known I was very different from when i was first sexually active, though it took me about
seven years, and finally getting access to the 'net in 95 for me to find out what my differences
were called and that other people liked them too.  At the end of a big relationship I came out
on scene (99) and first attended this wonderful munch that I am now head meet and greeter for.

I had six years out in another long term relationship with someone who I met at the munch I've
burst back out on scene again and am now happy and having a lot of fun.  I've met some wonderful
people and made some very good friends.

In vanilla life i work and study hard, I have three cats who I adore and also am lucky enough to
live in a space that brings me peace and calm.  I'm good on my own and with a houseful of people.
I love radio 4, film and all sorts of music.  Currently on a bit of snow patrol adventure.
Though my top musical influences have to be Underworld, Massive attack and Depeche Mode.  I read
lots (all sorts of stuff) and am most likely to be found on the sofa chilling out.

The munch is such an important point of contact for new people coming out on scene, and for
those of us who have been out and about for a while.  It gives us somewhere to socialise and to
meet up and is a great place to say hello and to network.

At the Manchester Munch I am one of the 'Meet & Greeters'. This was the first ever event when coming 'out' (My first visit was in March 2006) about my sexuality and interests and I have never looked back since.

I first realised about BDSM around June 2004 which is when I discovered what this really meant and how much it actually explained the way I am.

I'm mainly masochistic (Enjoy VERY much the receiving of pain) and also naturally being submissive. However, I have started having a sadistic streak (enjoy giving pain) and this side of me is also growing so my switchy side is blooming nicely lol!!

On the scene I like to dress more Gothic/Vampiric. Favourite colours are black, purple, blue and green (all in this order).

Vanilla interests? Well... Its got to be MUSIC! Love music, classical to folk to rock to heavy metal. I'm artistic, knitting, drawing, acrylic paints, pastels, DIY in the home, cooking.... If I put my mind to something or come up with ideas I usually succeed in producing something pretty good ;).

Also doing a lot more reading though it still takes me ages to read one book (due to dyslexia), getting more into a variety of books eg, James Herbert, Terry Pratchett, Dan Brown and now the obvious books on BDSM. And finally my PC.

Personality wise... I'm very quiet - but you know the quiet ones are always the worst lol! - and also very caring so being a 'Meet & Greeter' is a perfect role which I take to heart.
